Tough Cook Strait Competition for Air2there

Air2there's timetable shows the company has retrenched its flights between Blenheim and Wellington. The current timetable offers flights between these two centres on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays. The company continues to operate its flights between Paraparaumu and Blenheim and Paraparaumu and Nelson.

In recent months Air2there was code-sharing flights between Blenheim and Wellington with Sounds Air. Since then Sounds Air have added another Cessna Grand Caravan to its fleet and have indicated a strengthening of their Cook Strait services.

  1. Air2there's POB reports are often quite low compared to Soundsair. They had their Caravan in maintenance for longer than intended also. I hope they are able to find a timetable that works for them.

  2. Noted that i heard and seen their aircraft presumably on charters around the place reasonably often, maybe a bit more of a emphasis on these, dont they also now operate a b200?

  3. They got a air ambo contract based out of Palmerston North for the b200 has been set up for some months, it's been 2 I think, they have had 10 flights for it so far, doesn't look good for air 2 there

  4. Air2there have been doing corrections flights, also heard that they are doing a code share sort of thing with Sounds, but don't know if that last bit is right, or speculation.
