Whanganui's New Timetable

Air Chathams have published their new schedule for Whanganui. They will operate three weekday flights between the River City and City of Sails... In the weekend the will two northbound flights on a Saturday and one on a Sunday and one southbound flight on a Saturday and two on a Sunday.

Fares will start at $89 for a Thrifty fare, $159 for a Saver fare and $344 for Full Economy.

  1. Looks like a realistic price structure. Maybe Air NZ was not that bad after all eh!

  2. Maybe Air NZ will regret that they are pulling out now.

  3. 6 flying hours a day. Go little metro go. 30 year old workhorse running on the smell of kero soaked rag.

  4. I'm certain that Wanganui/Whanganui will not be the last provincial centre to loose Air New Zeal flights. The argument: "people can drive 70 to 100km to reach their nearest Air New Zeal port" means it's only a matter of time before Blenheim, Timaru, Tauranga, Taupo and Hamilton loose air services - especially with bigger aircraft operating fewer flights. My encouragement to Wanganui: embrace Air Chathams like Whakatane has done!
