Introducing North Shore Air

A press release from North Shore Air...

Air travel to the Bay of Plenty and Bay of Islands has just got far more convenient for those who live and work on the North Shore, Hibiscus Coast and Rodney districts, with the start of a new regular air service based out of Dairy Flat Airport. Newmans Air Ltd trading as North Shore Air will soon begin operating scheduled daily flights to the popular destinations of both Tauranga and Kerikeri from their freshly renovated terminal hub at North Shore’s own airport. Initially an early morning and late afternoon flight will be scheduled to Tauranga and back, with one mid-morning return flight to Kerikeri in between.  The flight in both directions only takes 40 minutes by air giving passengers more time to spend at the destinations. The airline will utilise a ten-seat Piper Chieftain and an eight-seat Piper Navajo twin engine aircraft for their operations, in conjunction a shuttle coach service that will provide passengers with an express transit along the northern busway between the airport and Auckland CBD. Stopping points for the shuttle will also include Smales Farm station on the busway itself, along with the Quest Hotel in nearby Albany. Residents and businesses north of the harbour bridge in particular will find the Dairy Flat hub a far more convenient alternative than driving over 40km to Mangere to catch a flight- a journey that can take up to two hours itself in peak hour traffic! The company also offers free parking right outside their terminal at 270 Postman Road, with costly offsite parking another additional expense travellers traditionally face when flying out from Mangere. Those who fly with North Shore Air will enjoy the personalised experience that a small airline can offer, with friendly service from a dedicated team of experienced individuals and fantastic views out the large windows of the aircraft that are able to cruise a few thousand feet lower than other domestic airliners. In addition to scheduled services, North Shore Air will also be able to offer charter of their aircraft to almost every other region of New Zealand. Groups of up to nine persons wishing to fly together will receive an extremely competitive rate for private flights, making for a very economical method when commuting together. All inclusive airfares one way between Tauranga or Kerikeri with a 15kg standard baggage allowance (plus carry on) are set at $149 for adults, and $124.50 for children aged between 2 and 12 years old. The shuttle pickup or drop off can be requested at the time of booking, reasonably priced at $15 from the CBD, $12 from Smales Farm and $10 from Albany. For online reservations and enquires, visit the website at www.northshoreair.co.nz or call the team on 0800 229 862.
