25 years ago - April 1988 - Airliners

Spot the difference... Mount Cook Airline's BN Islander ZK-MCD (above) at Greymouth on 7 April 1988 with stable mate ZK-MCE at Queenstown (below) on 1 April 1988. At this stage the Islanders were still used on the scheduled services to Alexandra and Dunedin and to Te Anau as well as the scenic flights into Milford Sound

On 16 April 1988 Mount Cook Airlines were using Pukaki due to high winds at Mount Cook... operating the services were Fokker Friendship ZK-DCB (above) and Hawker Siddeley 748 ZK-MCF (below)

Mount Cook Airlines weren't operating into Mount Cook but Ansett New Zealand's service to Glentanner on 16 April 1988 operated as normal with de Havilland Canada Dash 8 ZK-NEZ
Fokker Friendship ZK-NFI was brought a load of passengers to Wings over Wanaka on 1 April 1988
Coast Air's Piper Pa31 Navajo at Christchurch on 4 April 1988
Pacifica Air's Swearingen Metroliner II ZK-MES arriving at Christchurch on 26 April 1988

Air Chathams' Beech Queen Air at Christchurch on 4 April 1988 in its American registration N640K, and later in the month on the 23rd of April 1988 as ZK-CIA.
